Terry was the Co-founder of Irish Fencing Services 50 years ago. He describes his current position as Chairman as “a great job, being involved in as much as I wish, and responsible for nothing!” Terry however continues,to bring his perspective and decades of knowledge to the company if asked.
With a Cockney accent which is still obvious even after 50 years Terry is proud of his London and Kerry roots, as well as of the part the company has played in the changes in the Irish Economy and Construction Industry over that time. “We have an exceptional team throughout the company in sales, contracts, production and our installation crews who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to every project”.
Over the years the company has lost great servants Sean Devine who co-founded it with Terry, Paddy Henderson Factory Manager from the earliest days in Ballyboughal and scion of one of Ireland’s great soccer goalkeeping families, Seamus White and Oliver O’Neill brilliant fence erectors, and numerous retirees including Barney Murtagh, Der Healy, John Behan, Pat Synott and Johnny Windrum.
A particular interest is in those who were with Irish Fencing in their younger days and have progressed their careers so successfully, either in their own ventures or at the top of successful multinational and national companies, With perhaps some benefit from their years with us!
Outside of work, he serves on The Board of The Ballyfermot Chapelizod Partnership, contributing to the local community. He was a founder and the first chairman of ISME and was on The Board of Skillnets, and still follows their activities and successes of both with great interest.
He loves staying up to date with the latest news, interacting with the team, and tending to the company’s forestry in Wexford.
In his leisure time, Terry is a very happy man, walking with his rescue dog Buddy, traveling, following Rugby and Soccer enjoying Guiness and cherishes time with his children and grandchildren.
