A Brief History

Irish Fencing and Railings Ltd was founded in 1973 by its present Chairman Terry Hobdell and Sean Devine.

Fencing for the industrial market at the time comprised almost exclusively of concrete posts and galvanised chainlink with barbed wire extensions, this was a very unattractive product and many architects involved in factory design during Irelands first period of inward investment were keen not to use around their modern industrial developments.

Recognising this demand Irish Fencing brought to the Irish market the first Plastic Covered, Colour Matched, Chainlink Fencing System: Plastacon™. This product was to become the basis of our business. The continuous development of new products and the improvement of their manufacture give our Irish customers products that suit the special needs of the Irish market.

We have also developed partnerships with leading international suppliers of Fencing and gate products. Such as: Heras (part of the CRH Group), Gunnebo with their Wego and Elkosta entrance control products. Nice gate automation of Italy and Filmasport of France for High and sporting netting.

We pride ourselves in out contacts with in the international fencing industry and we will continue to source and develop new and innovative products to satisfy the Irish market.
